    Togi Korean Restaurant

This little Korean restaurant is not all that comfortable to dine in, but the authenticity more than make up for it.

It was already fully occupied by 7pm on a Saturday night. We were greeted by a Korean teenager staff who could manage no more English than my five year old niece. Nonetheless, we got a table after waiting about 10mins.

Good thing they have a menu outside, which helped us decide what to order as soon as we were seated.

First came the side dishes, which were appetizing and best of all, free flow! Order all the kimchi you want!

The Beef Bibimbab seems to have an equal portion of meat and rice. It tasted original without the sauces you find elsewhere which masks the beef.

The grilled pork was so fatty that they had to place a dish at the side of the griller to collect the oil that is dripping out. This is one dish which every table ordered and it's not hard to understand why. The pork was crispy yet juicy, and pairs well with the fresh lettuce provided.

And btw, they only accept credit cards for $50 or more...as the food is not very expensive, please remember to bring cash.

    York Hotel Penang Hawker Fare

In case anyone wants to try this, please forget it as the special buffet has just ended today.

It definitely was not like any buffet which I have been to, with many stalls set up at the sides of the dining area, and many people queueing for their favorite Penang food like Lor Bak, Laksa, Char Kway Teow, Kway Teow Soup, Cendol, Prawn Mee Soup, Rojak, Fried Oyster, Cuttlefish Kangkong and last but not least, Ban Chang Kweh.

Well in fact I have just been to Penang early this year, and was happy to re-savour the authentic Penang delights...The Ban Chang Kweh is something which I have never heard of in Penang, and I was glad that I have the chance to try it here. It is similar to the crispy "Min Jiam Kweh" (peanut pancake) which we can find locally. What makes it different is that they added melted butter to add a salty taste to the peanut & sugar filling. Its heavenly blend had resulted in the long queues throughout the dinner.

Every stall limits up to only 2 bowls/plates per customer and without saying, everyone took 2 servings at every stall. It was a lot of evil carbs and sauces, but one which everyone could not resist.

At the end, I still couldn't believe I paid $23.80 +++, when all these could have only cost RM$10???

    Le Bistrot

Nice affordable french bistro tucked away at Stadium Road.

    Entree and Main = $38.00
    Main and Dessert = $38.00
Entree, Main and Dessert = $48.00

Look out for special dishes scribbled (in chalk) on the walls. They do have a menu (though limited variety) but the items on their menu do not state the price...well, if you have to ask, you can't afford it =p
