September 25 Imperial Treasure Nan BeiCouldn't resist revisiting this restaurant...I promise you will be seeing a lot of postings on this place...
Double-boiled Chicken soup...superb. No trace of oil, some herbal after-taste.
Claypot Stewed Beef...superb. Satisfaction guaranteed, tendor and flavourful. Goes well with the radish!
Spinach with eggs of 3 kinds...good. Generous serving.
Combo BBQ rice...superb. Perfectly roasted duck with lean juicy Char Siew. What can I say...
Mango Pudding...superb. With lots of fresh mango bits.
You get what you pay for ...;) Ma Maison #2Yup, second posting of this restaurant.
Was wandering around Bugis and didn't know what to eat...so decided to try out its other dishes ;)
Like our previous visit, the place was fully booked, so we were again seated at the counter in front of the kitchen.
This time, we ordered Tuna Salad with french dressing, Hamburger Steak with Japanese sauce and Squid-ink spaghetti.
All 3 dishes earned another thumbs-up for me...must try...if you're feeling rich...hehe September 24 Sandwich!Never really fancy eating sandwiches but I must admit that this is good! and filling too!
Given to me by a colleague but I would definitely buy one of these next time...try it! Worth every cent.
The Sandwich Shop - http://www.thesandwichshop.com.sg/ Swensens Fish N ChipsOrdered fish and chips and we requested to change the "chips" to baked potatoes...
turned out the the "baked potatoes" were FRIED.
Well, think better to just stick to their ice cream i guess... September 18 Melt Cafe Lunch BuffetWent to this acclaimed restaurant at Oriental Hotel and found that the buffet is overrated and pricey...
only dish worth mentioning is the red wine jelly dessert...Ermm, wait a minute, that's not even a dish right?
Wonder if the standard has anything to do with the fact that buffet is catered for all my company's employees attending an offsite meeting there???
Heard that the ala-carte lunch buffet is $42+++. Really hope that the dinner offers better fare, but I don't think I will ever find out for myself... Recommended if you feel rich and have nowhere better to go.
September 12 Kam BoatPart of cantonese restaurant chain, Kam Boat Group, this is another "Kitchen-style" restaurant trying to carve a slice of the market dominated by CJ and IT.
However, it has to try much much harder if it plans to expand in this market...
Located just outside Marina sq on the link bridge to City Link Mall, I thought it was well situated with heavy human traffic. In contrast, for the past 2 visits, I could find a table without having to wait at all, when its neighbour restaurants were all lined with long queues...doesn't bode too well eh?? I suspect it's the "Feng Shui"...
That aside, considering the service, decor, and food quality, this restaurant is definitely value-for-money.
The pictures are for a set dinner for 2 priced at $37.90 (after +++). Dishes include Papaya with fungus & chicken soup, Stir-fried beef with spring onion, sliced fish with bittergourd, seasonal vegetables with mushroom and choice of dessert (forgot to take pic of this!)
Worth a try. |
