    Secret date with Jay

After a long wait in the heat, we finally entered the event venue, Dragonfly. Then we had to scramble for a choice spot to stand so we could have a clear view of Jay. But it was pretty tough due to the large crowd & limited standing room. To pass the time while waiting for Jay's appearance, we had to endure some off-key singing from over-enthusiastic fans :(
Finally at about 2.30pm, the man himself appeared...   he played games with some lucky pre-picked fans, signed a couple of posters, talked about the movie... it was all over in about 30 minutes. So sad. He didn't sing "live" or anything.
Supposed to be a "Tea Party" but all we got was a watered-down soft drink. Zero food.

After escaping from the "paparazzi" (we thot we saw a CNA newsvan - must have been a slow news day), we headed to Cedele for a scone & muffin. Yumm.

    Manpudo Ramen

I did not believe when the Sunday Times reported that this was a new restaurant opened at the Atrium @ orchard.

This was the same Ramen Ramen restaurant which I posted very much earlier! How can it be new!?

I was glad that I made trip down to clear my doubts...It is the same unit, with the same decor, utensils and maybe staff??

However, you would immediately realise that their menu have shrunked to a single-sided A4 page. There were only 3 types of ramen to choose from and the side-dishes were of limited variety too. I feel that this has somehow contributed to the fact that the food now tastes better!

The soup was less oily and had very nice pork-bone flavour. This was sufficient to earn my thumbs up and I am sure that the restaurant is making a right step forward and specialise at what they do best.

    CaliforniaPizza Kitchen

Well, I would still prefer an authentic italian wood-fired brick oven baked pizza anytime...This is rather thin-crust (if you had opted for neopolitan-style) but the cheese is just not enough to give the "cheese pull effect"... The pasta was too pepperish and may not be popular with everyone.

The ingredients available for the pizzas and pastas also pares in comparison to those italian restaurants that I've been to...mainly chicken and prawns and vegetables.

The lime pie is too sweet for my liking...avoid the calories!

Maybe I shouldn't ask for too much since citibank CC has a 1-for-1 pizza or pasta promo?

    Waraku Japanese Restaurant

Finally found some time to post entries again!

Yup, Waraku again...because I miss the good food.

Had my favourite Hokkai Salad and Hotate Nabe. This time I also ordered the Unagi Donburi and the Green Tea Ice Cream.

The grilled eel rice was so-so (because the portion of unagi is too small hah!) but filling; the ice cream is different from other ice cream or gelato that you would find elsewhere...it is EXTREMELY "Sticky" and doesn't seem to melt.

Have to try the one at thecentral some day...
