Sick and tired of the normal fanfare at hotel buffet? Fret not, here's one that sets itself apart from its competitors.

 

Tucked away at Claymore Road, this less-than-a-year-old contemporary restaurant did not benefit from the fact that it was located at the relatively indistinctive Meritus Negara Hotel. However, I believe it has already attracted its own pool of regular customers with its special Brazilian Churrasco.

 

To begin with, they serve great herb rolls which tastes better than those sold at Sun Moulin. This is followed by 2 soup-of-the day to choose from (included in the buffet). You may also order pasta from the chef, cooked al-dente, while you help yourselves to the decent spread of salads, cold seafood and many other dishes. There is also a good selection of cheese with crackers to go with.

 

The highlight starts when the Brazilian chef goes round the tables and serve his customers the Churrasco. After feasting on the Beef Topside, Fish, Chicken Thigh, and Pork Ribs, I told myself enough is enough. But when the chef brings his giant skewer before me, my knees weakened and I succumbed to more Beef Ribs, Lamb, Beef Steak, Sausage, Char Siew, Chicken Heart and Cinnamon Pineapple. Was quite disappointed with the Char Siew though...lacks the "charred" flavour.

 

The dessert selection boasts of creative creme in shot glasses, deli cakes and fruits with chocolate fountain. Too bad I had little room to sample all of them after all those meat.

 

Another perk is that the restaurant has a Ladies Nite promotion every Monday, so ladies pay only 50% of the Adult buffet price ($39). I'm not sure when this offer ends though. This is not applicable to the 15% discount off the total bill for UOB credit card holders.
